Sound American - 2020 Print & Audio Subscription

We would like to continue to offer a subscription option to those of you just coming to Sound American and have bundled the remaining issues in the 2020 season (SA25/26) with this year's very special Art Book release of Ash Fure: Something to Hunt.

With this Subscription you will receive:

SA25: The Folk Issue

Guest edited by Sarah Hennies and Anna Roberts-Gevalt and featuring exclusive writings by and interviews with Peggy Seeger, Meredith Monk, Henry Flynt, Laurie Spiegel, Kurt Newman, Martin Arnold, Amirtha Kidambi, Ana Alonso-Minutti, John McCowen, Sean Meehan, and more!

SA26: The OCCAM Issue

A deep dive into Éliane Radigue’s unprecedented long-form, long-term and aurally/orally transmitted composition through the ears and minds of those performing it.

SA008: Ash Fure: Something to Hunt

This beautifully designed hardcover art book comes with a CD of Ash Fure's first release performed beautifully by the International Contemporary Ensemble, Rebekah Heller, Brandon Lopez, Nate Wooley, and the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra (performing Fure's Pulitzer nominated Bound to the Bow). The book itself contains documentation of some of her larger installation works and writings by SA editor Nate Wooley, the New Yorker's Steve Smith, New York Times' Zachary Woolfe, and others!

As always, subscribers will have their copies mailed to them as soon as they hit the office and, for the first time this year, will receive epub versions of each journal on the day of its release for use on kindle and tablet.

Subscribers will also receive advance notice of special streaming events, such as our release concert for SA24 on July 17th featuring performances by Ken Vandermark, Taylor Ho Bynum, Luke Stewart, and more!

Each Issue is:

- Printed using offset lithography in a special Pantone color throughout (which will change each issue)

- Bound with the highest quality thread-sewn binding, using cold glue and Otabind™, so the book lies open and stays completely flat, and will last for a lifetime.

- Printed on Holmen paper, an excellent Swedish stock

- Printed by die Keure, one of the finest book printers in the world in a limited edition of 500
