The eight tracks presented here are the fruit of a recording of a jazz party held on October 30, 1967 in the Fine Recording Studio on West 56th St. in Manhattan. There was considerable excitement in the room that evening because this was a reunion of vintage period Basie Men-Rushing, Wells, Clayton and Jones. Rushing was in wonderful voice, feeding off of the excitement of the live audience (circa 125 guests) and the simpatico and swinging support of his old Basie bandmates. An invaluable souvenir of small band jazz at its relaxed best!
